Introduction
Jin Denning is partner at Haiwen, where he is also co-head of the dispute resolution group. In his practice of over 20 years, Jin has focused on complex commercial litigation cases, international and domestic commercial arbitration, patent litigation, intellectual property-related antitrust litigation, unfair competition disputes, torts, product liability and insurance litigation, corporate control and investment disputes, entertainment law disputes, customer disputes, administrative and criminal litigation, and environment liability cases. He has also been doing research on investor-state arbitration since 2010. Jin serves as panel arbitrator of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Committee (CIETAC), Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Committee (SHIAC), Arbitration Center Across the Straits, Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), and as a member of the Administrative Reconsideration Committee of Shanghai Municipal Government. Each year, he acts as the presiding arbitrator or the sole arbitrator in around 10 arbitration cases, and as party-appointed arbitrator in other 10 cases.

He has handled the Citibank charges dispute case (published by Gazette of the Supreme People’s Court), Intel’s copyright infringement claims against Dongjin and Dongjin’s counterclaims against Intel concerning a software licence agreement in an antitrust litigation, Sandvik’s patent infringement claims against Kennametal concerning a patent for invention of cutting tools with an oxide coating, a series of patent infringement cases concerning Honda motorcycles’ design patents, Arima Communication’s claims against InterDigital Technology Corp in a standard-essential patent antitrust case, the Baotou air crash case, the Hynix fire accident insurance subrogation case, the Unilever alleged smuggling case, and a significant number of commercial arbitration cases related to investments, equity transfers, EJV and CJV, financing, long-term industrial supply contract, hotel management, and entertainment industry managed by CIETAC, SHIAC, HKIAC, and ICC.
