Introduction

Justin Chen Yigong, founder and managing partner of PacGate Law Group, has practiced for more than 20 years in the fields of company law, investment, and securities, providing legal services to hundreds of startups in China and Silicon Valley and representing numerous venture capital funds. He mainly provides legal services for business transactions between China and the United States, and advises clients on international financing, corporate mergers and acquisitions, joint investment, technology licensing and transfer, intellectual property protection and other commercial matters. He served as the president of the Beijing University Alumni Association in Silicon Valley. He is also one of the founders of the Huayuan Science and Technology Association in the United States, and is active in the field of venture capital investment in China and the US.

Chen graduated from Peking University with a B.S. in Biochemistry. He obtained his Master’s degree in Biochemistry and his J.D. from the University of Iowa.

Chen is admitted to practice in California and is a registered Patent Attorney.

Chen was recommended as a “Private Equity Investment and Venture Capital” Leading Individual (2015-2019), as well as a “Technology, Media and Communication” Leading Individual (2016-2018) by LEGALBAND. He was also named in 2018 as one of China’s Top 100 Lawyers (The A List) by China Business Law Journal. PacGate Law Group, which he founded, was recognized as one of China’s Best Private Equity Investment Intermediary Agency (Law Firm) TOP 10 of 2019 by China Venture Capital Research Institute (CVCRI), and received numerous China Business Law Awards in Private Equity & Venture Capital by China Business Law Journal in recent years.
