“法律精英”名册上的律师是《商法》月刊根据广泛调查研究评选而来的。为了评选出涉华商事活动中最优秀的100位律师，我们向中国和全球上千名法务顾问及众多中外顶尖律师事务所的合伙人发出了调查邀请，听取业界的声音，助我们做出甄选。
我们从大量中外企业、律师事务所和其他机构的专业人士收到了提名。最终的获奖名单基于了我们收到的提名，并结合《商法》编辑团队多年来观察和分析中国法律市场的集体经验。
所有参与涉华业务的私人执业律师都自动符合进入提名程序的资格，并且进入提名程序不收取任何的费用，亦没有其他限制条件。所有被选为“法律精英”的律师，其姓名和照片都已在下面公布。

The A-List is based on extensive research conducted by China Business Law Journal. To identify the top 100 lawyers for China practice, we turned to thousands of in-house counsel in China and around the world, as well as partners at Chinese and international law firms, and asked them to tell us which lawyers should make the cut.
Nominations were received from professionals at a wide range of Chinese and international companies, law firms and other organizations. The final list reflects the nominations received combined with the China Business Law Journal editorial team’s years of collective experience in documenting and analyzing China’s legal market.
All private practice lawyers for the China market were automatically eligible for inclusion in the nomination process, and there were no fees or any other requirements for entry into that process. The names and photographs of all A-List lawyers are published below.
In addition, each A-List lawyer was given the opportunity to include their biography and contact details, for which a publishing fee was charged.
It is important to note that the compilation of The A-List and the list of recommended practice areas for each A-List lawyer are based solely on independent editorial research, whereas the biographies and contact details that appear alongside many of the listings have been written by the participating lawyers and the content has not been independently verified by China Business Law Journal.

With solid work experience at leading law firms in China for many years, he has represented multinationals in relation to enforcement, acquisition and licensing of trademark, copyright and internet-related matters, patents, trade secrets and domain names. He advises on various IP matters in China relating to the creation, exploitation and protection of IP rights, including contentious and non-contentious matters. Gui has a great deal of experience in representing clients for IP lawsuits in different levels of courts in China. Some lawsuits he handled were recognized by the Supreme People’s Court of China as top 10 exemplary cases. He also served as the private law clerk to a former judge of the Supreme Court of Hong Kong, who was in charge of the construction and arbitration list and one of the founders of Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre. An expert in his field, Ma has accumulated extensive experience of complex commercial arbitration and litigation and is especially adept at handling international arbitration outside mainland China. Ma has represented dozens of Chinese companies in resolving their IP disputes in the US, and earned client’s long-term trust. During his years in private practice, Ma and his litigation teams successfully handled a number of high profile ITC investigations involving Chinese companies. In one investigation, his clients were four subsidiaries of a large Chinese state-owned company, which were sued for patent infringement. The commission reversed the late Chief Administrative Law Judge’s decision and found that Ma’s clients were not infringing and did not violate Section 337. In another investigation, he represented the complainant and its subsidiaries in China which were suing a group of Chinese respondents for trade secret misappropriation. The ITC issued a 10-year exclusion order against these respondents. This landmark decision represented a new development of trade secret law and ITC jurisdiction in the US, and was upheld by the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Ma’s most recent ITC cases include representing a Chinese respondent in 337-TA-985 involving surgical stapler devices, and a Chinese respondent and its US distributor in 337-TA-1015 involving hand dryers. Apart from ITC investigations, he also represents clients in US district court cases. For example, he currently represents another Chinese client in two cases before the US District Court for the Central District of California suing a US defendant for infringing a utility patent and a design patent. His recent work on strategic transactions include assisting JD.com to form a strategic alliance with Walmart and assisting Baidu in its US$150 million joint investment in Velodyne LiDAR together with Ford. Dr Yu started his private practice in early 2003, focusing on trade law, foreign investment law and corporate law. He leads the firm’s international practice, representing Chinese clients to safeguard their trade and investment interests in various jurisdictions including the US and the EU, while on the other hand assisting foreign chambers and international companies in their interest in front of Chinese authorities as well as courts. Dr Yu worked in Washington-based law firms for several years. In 2002, he joined a three-month seminar on trade laws and practices in Washington D.C., which was supported by the US Department of Commerce and International Trade Commission. Her practice includes advising multinational and Chinese clients concerning competition/antitrust law and other regulatory issues. With extensive experience advising on competition law in China and other jurisdictions, Zhou has focused on helping clients handle Chinese and foreign government investigations on cartel activities and abuse of dominance, making notifications and obtaining clearance for proposed mergers and acquisitions, and counselling clients on competition law compliance. The competition team of Linklaters in China led by Zhou has won in each of the four years consecutively since 2013 the Competition Firm of the Year – International by China Law and Practice, and is ranked as Band 1 by Chambers and Partners. Zhou’s recent experiences include advising Novartis on its US$22 billion transformational restructuring involving three strategic deals with GlaxoSmithKline; Glencore on obtaining PRC Ministry of Commerce’s (MOFCOM) approval for and performance of remedies under MOFCOM’s conditional clearance of the Glencore/Xstrata merger; SAB Miller on MOFCOM merger filing for its shares sales to InBev; CNR/CSR on global merger filings in their landmark merger; China Merchants Group on global merger filings in relation to its acquisition of Sinotrans & CSC; multinational/Chinese clients in responding to monopoly agreements, abuse of dominance and other antitrust investigations. Zhou previously served in MOFCOM for eight years and has acquired a thorough understanding of the dynamic regulatory environment in China. After receiving her LLM from Harvard Law School, she practised with international law firms for nine years. She is qualified to practice law in China and the New York state. In 2006, she obtained a master’s degree in international business law from the University of Glasgow, after which she worked as a foreign exchange lawyer at Dewey & LeBoeuf in London. Since 2013, Zhu has been the managing partner of Chance Bridge Partners in Beijing. She is a member of the China Law Society’s Securities Law Research Society, Law Research Society and the deputy director of its research department. An arbitrator in the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), she has previously served as secretary-general of the Sino Global Legal Alliance (SGLA), as representative of the 10th Beijing Lawyers’ Congress and as an independent director of 37 Internet Entertainment (002555). To date, Zhu has led numerous influential legal projects domestically and abroad, and provided professional legal advice on areas including foreign direct investment and M&A. In the areas of investment and capital markets, she has provided legal services to both foreign and domestic clients relating to M&A, restructuring, IPO, private equity and bond issuing. These projects include the IPO of Jiuhui Liquor (603919), the M&A of Ping An Securities (HK00231), and the listing on the New Third Board of Zhong Zhen (Beijing) Examine Engineering (837025) and Boxcool (Beijing) Cultural (838224). Some of his representative deals include: advising China Alcoa in its acquisition of Yun Nan Copper (the largest acquisition to date in the non-ferrous industry of China); Beijing Sanyuan Foods’ acquisition of Sanlu Group; the restructuring of Sinochem Group; IPO of Far Eastern Horizon (the first Chinese financial leasing company listed in Hong Kong); IPO of Franshion Properties; China’s Jinmao Group’s spin-off from Franshion Properties and IPO; the largest follow-on A shares offering by BOE Technology Group; 144A/Reg S note offering by Sinochem Hong Kong and COFCO Hong Kong; advising Beijing State-owned Capital Management and Operation Centre in its acquisition of shares in China Securities; the merger between Beijing Pharmaceutical Group and China Resources Pharmaceutical Group; and several major investment deals by National Integrated Circuit Industry Investment Fund.
