Chen Yimin

Introduction

Chen Yimin is the executive director of the Shanghai office of Jingtian & Gongcheng, responsible for management of the office’s daily affairs. He graduated from Shanghai University and Tongji University, and has over 25 years of practice experience. Before joining Jingtian & Gongcheng, Chen served as a partner of a famous domestic law firm and as a senior counsel for a well-known Singapore law firm.

Chen specialises in capital markets, M&A, investment and financing. In recent years, with his practice mainly focused on the consumer industry, Chen’s clients have been involved in a wide range of consumer and retail industries, including offline leisure and entertainment, outdoor sports and equipment, domestic cosmetics, pop toys and animation, which include Pop Mart (pop toys), Judydoll Makeup (domestic cosmetics), Mei KTV (chain brand of Internet KTV), MR. X (script entertainment), Snow 51 (ski training), and Man Wah Holdings (Recliner Sofa manufacturer), among others .

Some cases representative of Chen’s practice are as follows:

• Acting as the issuer’s PRC legal adviser in the IPO of Pop Mart on the Hong Kong stock exchange, this project was the first IPO case in China’s pop toy industry, and won the “Tianxin List –The Most Representative IPO Cases of Startups of 2020”.
• Acting as the issuer’s PRC legal adviser in the Hong Kong IPO of Global Dairy Holdings. The company was then one of the top 10 local brand milk powder companies in the PRC market in terms of sales value.
• Acting as the issuer’s PRC legal adviser in the Hong Kong IPO of Man Wah Holdings .
