Bae Kim & Lee has bolstered its capability to advise on real estate-related deals with the onboarding of new senior foreign lawyer David Pyun from Kim & Chang, where he previously served as a foreign attorney partner.
Pyun, who holds a partner-equivalent title at Bae Kim & Lee, specialises in real estate, corporate finance and cross-border investments. Qualified in both New York and California, he has advised major international private equity and financial investment companies on, among other things, acquisitions and financing for properties as well as development projects and joint ventures in Korea’s real estate market.
Pyun began his legal career as an associate at Mayer Brown in 2002, and later practised at Cox, Castle & Nicholson in the same position followed by a short stint as a senior associate at Allen, Matkins, Leck, Gamble, Mallory & Natsis before joining Yulchon in 2010 where he worked as a foreign attorney partner.
Besides assisting foreign enterprises in their inbound investment in Korea’s real estate market, he serves as legal counsel to Korean asset management companies and financial institutions for their overseas real estate investments, including acquisitions, joint ventures and financing.
