Introduction
Sumeet Kachwaha is a founding partner of Kachwaha & Partners, a leading dispute resolution and arbitration practice. He has handled many landmark and high stakes matters, including a large number of cross-border disputes.
He has served as an amicus curiae to the High Court of Delhi in two matters, including in the bilateral treaty dispute, Vodafone v Union of India. He has also stood in as an expert witness on Indian law in the courts of England and Singapore. He has received several appointments from the High Court of Delhi to sit as a sole arbitrator.
Sumeet has been ranked as a Band 1 lawyer for arbitration by Chambers Asia-Pacific since 2009 and is a “leading individual” in dispute resolution in the Legal 500 Asia-Pacific. He features in Who’s Who Legal in five sections: arbitration, asset recovery, construction, government contracts and procurement.
He serves on the advisory board of the Asian International Arbitration Centre (formerly the KLRCA). In the past, he served as chair of the dispute resolution and arbitration section of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association and as a vice president of the Asia-Pacific Regional Arbitration Group.
