Introduction

Jordan Yang, a senior partner at AllBright Law Offices in Beijing, specialises in cross-border investment, banking and finance, and dispute resolution. His expertise spans aviation and aerospace, infrastructure, biotech, and emerging technology industries. Serving as the President-elect of Asiajuris, an international alliance of independent law firms, he is also a member of the Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce China and an inaugural mediator for
the International Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization, as well as the Aviation Industry Dispute Mediation Center of the China Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.

In cross-border transactions, beyond the team’s traditional strengths in foreign investment and Chinese companies expanding globally, Yang actively participates in the Belt and Road Initiative. He has assisted numerous central enterprises, state-owned entities, and listed companies in various global transactions, including large-scale infrastructure construction, trading, cross-border structuring, USD financing, overseas bankruptcy, and litigation.

In the realm of banking and finance, Yang has excelled in innovative financial transactions. For instance, he represented a financial asset investment company under the head office of a Chinese bank, overseeing legal work for market-oriented debt-to-equity transactions totaling hundreds of billions of RMB. His achievements include representing a foreign national development bank in a multimillion-dollar financing project for HNA’s Meilan International Airport, as well as successfully handling quasi-ABS transactions for a state-owned bank, involving rents and residual value of multiple commercial aircraft from two different airlines. Healso represented Rolls-Royce & Partners Finance in cross-border leasing transactions with the largest domestic airline on aircraft engines. Moreover, he facilitated cross-border aircraft loans and refinancing transactions for a Chinese airline and handled multiple aircraft buyer credit projects for the financial company of COMAC.

In terms of dispute resolution, Yang’s extensive experience includes representing clients in major commercial cases before the Supreme People’s Court, the Higher People’s Court of Beijing, the Beijing Arbitration Commission, and the CIETAC. His successful representation has led to the recovery of substantial losses for clients.
