Gavin Sun

Introduction

Gavin Sun is the Chief Executive Partner and Global Partner of DeHeng Law Offices. His main practice areas are mergers and acquisitions, real estate and construction, and dispute resolution. After obtaining his master’s degree from Peking University in 1993, Sun has been working in DeHeng Law Offices . He has been admitted to the Bar and has the qualification of Land Appraiser in the PRC. He serves as an instructor of off-campus practice for students at Peking University and Beijing Normal University Law School. Sun has been listed in the “A-List ” in 2018 by CBLJ, has won the 2021 “LEGALBAND List: Top 15 Managing Partners”, and has been listed in the double areas of construction engineering and real estate of “Chambers Greater China Region” for many years. He was also nominated for the ALB “Managing Partner Award” for many consecutive years.

Sun leads the team to provide year-round legal services for large enterprises and institutions, and has rich experience in legal services in the fields of domestic and overseas dispute resolution, infrastructure construction, investment and M&A financing, corporate rescues and bankruptcy, real estate development, international EPC/Turnkey and BOT projects, etc. He is especially adept at servicing all kinds of major and complex dispute resolution, debt restructuring, and construction projects.

He has served as the general manager of many major bankruptcy reorgani sation and non-performing assets disposal projects and large-scale mergers and acquisitions projects, and has served as the managing partner for many large-scale commercial disputes and cross-border arbitration and litigation projects.

Since 2013, Sun has been serving in the position of the Chief Executive Partner of DeHeng Law Office, and he has vigorously promoted the professional division of attorneys in the firm, the development of professional committees, the synergistic management of branches and the construction of brand and talent systems, which is contributing to the modernised management of DeHeng. Adhering to the development route of Chinese brand and global service, DeHeng has set up 53 offices at home and abroad, with more than 6,000 employees, including more than 5,000 professionals, and has formed 19 specialized committees and six research centres all over the world, precisely locating the needs of clients and accomplishing a series of significant legal service projects with far-reaching social impact.
