Introduction

Bob Mo joined King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) in 2005, andis the managing partner of the KWM Corporate Department (Southern China) and the managing partner of the KWM Guangzhou office. With qualifications as a lawyer in China and as a certified accountant in Australia, Mo specialises in the fields of M&A, capital markets, banking and finance, and PE investment.
Mo has extensive experience in multinational enterprises’ FDI projects and well-known domestic enterprises’ outbound investments. Among the projects led by Mo, some were awarded as “the deal of the year” by leading professional institutions. He has participated in and led teams in the establishment, reorganisation, restructuring and merger, assets securitisation and IPO projects involving financial institutions. He also has significant experience in advising clients in transactions with respect to distressed assets and companies.

Mo is retained as an external general legal counsel by many well-known listed companies. He possesses an in-depth knowledge about the capital markets in Mainland China, Hong Kong and the US, and has provided seamless legal advice on investment funds to corporate clients, pre-IPOs to funds, domestic and international IPOs as well as major asset restructuring and M&A for listed companies. He has also represented clients in a variety of industries such as high-tech, cross-border e-commerce, the internet, biopharmaceuticals, education, mass consumption, catering, advertising, real estate and manufacturing, etc.

Mo has been recognised as a leading lawyer in the field of “Corporate/M&A” by Chambers Global and Chambers Asia-Pacific from 2020 to 2023 . Additionally, The Legal 500 awarded Mo as a “Highly Recommended Lawyer” in 2023.

Mo was recognised as part of the Legal Talents Scheme in Foreign-Related Business launched by the All China Lawyers Association in 2013, as one of the “Top 1000 Legal Talents in Foreign-Related Business” by the Ministry of Justice in 2018, and the “Leading Talent of Foreign-Related Lawyers in Guangdong Province” by the Guangdong Lawyers Association in 2018. Mo currently serves as a supervisor to the LLM students of the School of Law of Sun Yat-sen University.
