Singapore-based PDLegal has strengthened its corporate practice in Australia with the appointment of George Halikiotis as a partner at its Sydney office.
Halikiotis joins from PBL Law Group, where he spent eight months as a partner. Prior to that, he served as a principal at Piper Alderman for nearly four years.
Armed with more than 25 years of experience in corporate and commercial matters, he specialises in corporate and cross-border transactions.
PDLegal Australia managing partner Aaran Johnson said Halikiotis’ appointment was part of the firm’s long-term strategic growth plans.
“George’s appointment reflects PDLegal Australia’s continued investment in building a high-calibre commercial practice in Sydney,” Johnson told Asia Business Law Journal.
Johnson said there were plans to further grow multiple practice areas to meet evolving client demand in Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
“As client demand continues to increase, we intend to further expand our Australian team across a number of practice areas, including corporate and commercial, commercial litigation, insolvency and restructuring, property, construction, employment, and banking and finance,” he said.
