JunHe has hired Cui Duan as a partner at its Beijing headquarters, strengthening the firm’s capabilities in complex financing transactions and her partner registration is underway.

Cui, who has more than 19 years of experience, previously practised at Baker McKenzie’s Beijing office for eight years and was promoted to partner in 2020. Earlier in her career, she worked at Italian law firm Birindelli Associati Studio Legale and global peer Norton Rose Fulbright.

Her practice focuses on cross-border finance, covering project finance, acquisition finance, export credit financing, complex syndicated loans and debt restructuring. She advises Chinese companies on offshore financing across Southeast Asia, Latin America, Central Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe, with experience spanning infrastructure, mining, energy and transport projects.

Qualified in both China and England and Wales, Cui has advised major state-owned financial institutions including the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Development Bank and the Export-Import Bank of China.

Her representative matters include advising CITIC Group on its role as one of the principal strategic investors in China Huarong Asset Management’s RMB42 billion (USD6.2 billion) capital increase.
