Guantao Law Firm and Landing Law Offices recently set up branches in Zhuhai, further strengthening their respective presence in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.
Guantao’s Zhuhai office officially opened on 28 March, becoming its 39th branch globally and its fourth in the Greater Bay Area after Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
The Zhuhai office is headed by Chen Ping, formerly a partner at Guantao’s Hangzhou branch. He specialises in corporate and commercial matters, and once worked as head of legal and general counsel at several Fortune 500 companies, state-owned enterprises and listed companies. He has extensive experience in M&A, equity restructuring, corporate reorganisation and commercial litigation.

The office’s core practice areas cover securities and capital markets, corporate matters, private equity and investment funds, bankruptcy and liquidation, corporate restructuring, real estate and construction, investment, M&A, cross-border trade, intellectual property, banking and finance, compliance investigations and dispute resolution.
A Guantao press release states that the Zhuhai office aims to “develop into a mid-sized boutique law firm, deeply serving the Zhuhai and Hengqin markets, while efficiently connecting with high-end commercial and financial legal service demands across cities in the Greater Bay Area”.
Around the same time, Shanghai-headquartered Landing also established its 36th domestic branch in Zhuhai, which is being prepared foropening. This marks its third office in the
Greater Bay Area after Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

Qin Peijia, formerly head of Landing’s Indonesia practice, will head the office. She focuses on outbound investment and trade, cross-border M&A, and foreign-related dispute resolution. She has expertise in Indonesian foreign investment law, company law, labour law and tax law, with experience spanning sectors such as construction and new energy.
The Zhuhai office will primarily focus on outbound investment by Chinese enterprises, as well as international investment and trade.
