Darren Liang

Introduction

Darren Liang specialises in capital markets, M&A, VC and PE investments. He is an expert in designing complex transaction structures, resolving difficult legal issues, and researching capital market policies and practical matters.

Liang has extensive professional experience in providing legal services to start-ups, VC and PE funds, and listed companies. He has completed numerous landmark projects, including assisting MicroPort EP Medtech, the first medical device company to meet the fifth listing criterion and to be listed on the Star Market; advising JD Logistics on the acquisition of Deppon Logistics, which triggered a mandatory tender offer; advising BesTV on executing a share swap merger with Oriental Pearl and issuing shares to acquire assets while raising RMB10 billion (USD1.4 billion); advising Zhongzhi Capital International on issuing shares to acquire Kingwisoft Technology; and advising Zhongyu Gaopeng and Teamsun Technology on the joint establishment of an internet of things M&A fund and the acquisition of Telink Semiconductor.

Liang is a member of the Shanghai Bar Association’s securities committee and has received multiple awards and accolades from leading authoritative rating agencies and renowned legal media outlets.
