Shen Qian

Introduction

Shen Qian is a senior partner of Beijing Hylands Law Firm and, before that, used to be a PRC certified public accountant and a chartered certified accountant. Shen has extensive experience in international arbitration, construction engineering and M&A. She is the legal counsel for the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), many state-owned enterprises and public companies.

Shen has rich experience and profound insights in construction engineering and dispute resolution. The representative cases she has advised on include a shareholding dispute with the claim valued at more than USD2 billion in the HKIAC, a USD160 million dividend dispute in the HKIAC, a trade financing dispute exceeding RMB1.6 billion seated in the BIAC, an EPC project dispute in Tajikistan with the claim value of more than RMB60 million, and a civil protest procedure for a construction dispute with a more than RMB160 million claim. Due to her professional expertise in dispute resolution, Shen has also served as an arbitrator for multiple arbitration centres in Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenyang, Taizhou, Changzhou, Rizhao, Puyang, Yantai, and other cities.

Shen is proficient in cross-border and domestic M&As. She has advised in multiple overseas projects for many SOEs including PetroChina, Sinopec, CNOOC, and Huaneng Power. She regularly serves as a Chinese law expert witness before the US federal court and the Singapore Supreme Court.

Shen has established an excellent reputation for her pragmatic and professional legal services. She is a MOFCOM legal adviser, an expert in the CCOIC expert committee, an expert in the CCPIT Economic and Trade Expert Committee, the deputy secretary general of the International Economic Law Research Association of the Beijing Law Society, and a member of the Beijing Law Association Compliance Committee .
