Banking specialist Sharmil Bhushan joined Kochhar & Co as a partner and brought along her team from HSA Advocates in Mumbai on 29 November.
Bhushan specialises in banking and finance, debt restructuring and insolvency, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and investment funds.
With her addition, Kochhar said it now has a robust banking and finance practice group in its Indian offices and in Dubai.
Bhushan has more than 16 years of experience, providing legal advice to Indian and multinational banks, non-banking financial companies, financial institutions, and corporates on different aspects of Indian law.
She has been actively involved in advising on i) credit facilities to Indian borrowers for capital expenditure, project and acquisition financing, leveraged buyouts, trade finance and external commercial borrowings, real estate financing and ii) structuring and implementing debt, quasi-debt and equity transactions.
Her practice also includes advice on setting up private equity funds, offshore funds, venture capital funds, alternative investment funds, infrastructure investment trusts and real estate investment trusts.
