Ryan Ren

Introduction

Ryan Ren is a partner at Haiwen & Partners. He has extensive experience in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investment, foreign direct investment, securities and corporate governance. With his pioneering legal thinking, Ren specialises in representing clients in complex domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, acquisition of listed companies, joint ventures and cross-border restructuring.

Ren has provided legal services to many issuers and sponsors in securities offerings and the subsequent financing in mainland China, Hong Kong and the US, and also provided legal services to domestic and cross-border transactions of top multinational companies, Fortune Global 500 companies and well-known internet technology enterprises. Ren has extensively and actively represented domestic and foreign investment funds in minority equity transactions and has accompanied numerous founders as well as their startups in equity financing, restructuring and subsequent IPOs. Relying on Haiwen’s advantages in integrated services, Ren is able to provide comprehensive and one-stop legal services in dispute resolution, anti-trust, taxation, labour and employment, compliance, wealth management and other areas during the course of serving the clients.

Ren has advised on representative deals like Unifrax’s acquisition of shares in Luyang, which won China Business Law Journal’s cross-border deal of the year” in 2022. He advised Diageo’s acquisition of shares in Swellfun, which was named the 2019 M&A deal of the year by both the China Law & Practice and the International Financial Law Review (IFLR), and Wanda Film’s material assets restructuring transaction which won China Business Law Journal’s 2019 M&A deal of the year” award.

Ren received his LLB degree from the University of International Business and Economics in 2011.
