Priyanka Desai and Jaideep Singh Khattar have left their roles as principal associates at Khaitan & Co to set up their own law firm, The Fort Circle in Mumbai.
The firm specialises in dispute resolution, arbitration, white-collar crime, real estate litigation, private client practice and corporate advisory. “As the economy is churning again and maturing, there is a requirement for quality legal services at every stage of the business, as well as for personal affairs,” said Desai on their decision to take the entrepreneurial plunge during the middle of a pandemic.
Khattar was with Khaitan for five years, and with Legasis Partners for five years prior to that. Desai was with Khaitan for more than four years, and with K Ashar & Co for nine years. Desai (batch of 2009) and Khattar (batch of 2010) are Government Law College, Mumbai, alumni.
