Dear Sir,

This is in reference to the survey of legal practitioners and corporate counsel conducted by India Business Law Journal (Intelligence Report, July/August).

I am not sure on what basis the analysis was published.

There are many firms in the Indian legal market which have been ranked by Asia-Pacific Legal 500 and Asialaw Profiles as leading law firms in different areas of legal practice, but your survey did not make a mention of those firms except a few of them, which have been picked and taken as the best firms for all areas of legal practice.

This survey in no way reflects the actual position of the law firms in the Indian legal market.

I think any survey requires the understanding of the actual ground realities and mere publication of surveys, which are only based on partial facts, is not the best of a thing for a magazine.

The basis of this letter is not the fact that our firm has not been included, but the fact that a lot of firms specializing in key areas of practice have been totally ignored or not mentioned and merely nominating handful of firms in every area is not just and fair looking at the current Indian legal scenario.
