The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) is offering a new virtual event, Global Day, to cater for delegates unable to attend its in-person annual meeting in Las Vegas this year on 23-26 October.

“Global Day’s agenda will feature a variety of learning and networking opportunities including panels, micro-learning, career development, and interviews presented by experts from around the world,” Tanya Khan, vice president and managing director of the ACC Asia-Pacific, told Asia Business Law Journal.

Khan added that Global Day offers around-the-clock virtual programming on 26 October, focusing on topics of universal importance to in-house legal professionals worldwide and allowing participants to cross borders without leaving the comfort of their homes.

Topics include leadership, career development, law department management, global compliance, and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). The event is free and open to all, meaning delegates do not have to be ACC members to attend.

With 100% of in-house speakers from outside the US, highlights include:

  • Compliance Minefields Across Asia: What’s Been Keeping You Up at Night?
  • Sizzle or Fizzle: Cooking Up Legal Innovation Down Under
  • How Our Words Say More than You Think
  • In-house Counsel Reimagined (presented by Josh Morrison, director of the future of law lab, University of Toronto, Faculty of Law)
  • DEI as a Driver of Success
  • Career development sessions, plus one-on-one career coaching
  • CLO keynote interviews with Naveen Raju (general counsel and executive vice president, group legal at Indian multinational conglomerate Mahindra & Mahindra in Mumbai) and Lele Modise (group chief legal counsel at South African multinational telecommunications company MTN Group in Johannesburg)
  • Live peer-to-peer networking

The above sessions will be held throughout the day from 02:00-17:00 GMT to accommodate time zones worldwide. Free registration in advance is required HERE.
