Li Zhao

Introduction

Li Zhao is a Master of Laws graduate from China University of Political Science and Law and has nearly 20 years of experience working as a lawyer. Before joining Commerce & Finance Law Offices as an equity partner, Li practised as a partner at Global Law Office.

Specialising in corporate, securities, and investment and financing disputes, Li has represented numerous clients in complex commercial cases brought before PRC courts, including the Supreme People’s Court of China, and leading domestic and international arbitration institutions. His practice covers disputes relating to corporate equity and control, securities issuance and transaction, fraud liabilities, commercial loans, investment funds, valuation-adjustment mechanisms, management liabilities, as well as disputes on real estate and matrimonial matters.

In addition to his work as a lawyer, Li sits regularly as an arbitrator at multiple arbitration institutions, including CIETAC, BIAC and SHIAC. Li has been constantly ranked and recommended by legal media including Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, Asian Legal Business, Legalband and China Business Law Journal as one of China’s top lawyers, and has multiple times been named Litigation Lawyer of the Year and Arbitration Lawyer of the Year.
