Malaysian law firm Adnan Sundra & Low has strengthened its M&A and equity capital markets (ECM) practices with the appointment of partner Wong Mei Ying.

Wong arrives from Tay & Partners, where she spent nearly five years as a partner. Before that, she worked at Chooi & Company and Cheang & Ariff.

She advises public listed companies, private companies and private equity funds on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions across multiple sectors, including food and beverage, education, logistics, digital media, insurance and retail.

Wong also focuses on IPOs and listings on the Bursa Malaysia, as well as a wide range of corporate finance and ECM transactions. Her experience further includes joint ventures, shareholders’ agreements, company law matters and commercial transactions.

“Her appointment reflects the firm’s continued investment in and expansion of its corporate and ECM practice, a significant practice area of the firm,” joint managing partner Putri Norlisa Najib told Asia Business Law Journal.

Najib said she expected the corporate and ECM practice to continue growing in line with evolving client needs.

“As the firm continues its growth trajectory, further strategic additions to the corporate and ECM teams are anticipated, with a focus on strengthening our capabilities and supporting evolving client needs,” she said.

Wong’s appointment comes just over a month after Adnan Sundra & Low bolstered its shipping and maritime, and employment and industrial relations practices with the addition of partner Dhanyaa Shreeya.
