Boutique intellectual property (IP) firm Chang Tsi & Partners has appointed Li Bo as a partner and head of its Asia-Pacific practice, based in Beijing, strengthening the firm’s overseas IP services.

Spring Chang, founding partner and head of IP practice at Chang Tsi, told China Business Law Journal: “Li Bo’s joining will further enhance Chang Tsi & Partners’ professional strengths in assisting Chinese enterprises with their outbound expansion. With more than 20 years of IP practice experience and strong cross‑border capabilities, Li Bo will help the firm refine its overseas IP service network and strengthen its global strategic footprint, providing clients with more efficient and professional cross‑border IP protection and commercial support.”

Prior to joining Chang Tsi, Li served as director of the domestic trademark department at CCPIT Patent and Trademark Law Office. Earlier in his career, he worked as a patent engineer at IP consultancy East IP from 2003, before joining CCPIT Patent and Trademark Law Office in 2006.

Li has represented numerous leading domestic and international companies in patent prosecution and enforcement matters. His previous clients span industries including telecommunications, consumer electronics and semiconductors. He has also advised well‑known enterprises in e‑commerce, home appliance manufacturing, new energy and fast‑moving consumer goods on domestic and international trademark authorisation and confirmation matters.

Among his representative cases, he acted for JD.com in its trademark dispute with Alibaba over the “Double 11” (Singles’ Day, China’s equivalent of Black Friday) trademark.
