You Minjian

Introduction

You Minjian is the founder of Co-effort Law Firm, a first-class lawyer brand. He is a Standing Committee Member of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference; Senior Researcher of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Research Institute; Vice President of the Shanghai Cultural and Creative Industry Association; Vice President of the Shanghai Copyright Association; Vice President of the Shanghai Association of Young and Middle-aged Intellectuals; Mediator and arbitrator of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Centre; member of the WIPO Mediation and Arbitration Advisory Committee; arbitrator of the Shanghai International Arbitration Centre; and mediator of the Shanghai Economic and Trade Commercial Mediation Centre.

You is engaged in legal work in the fields of copyright, trademark, patent, internet legal issues, data protection, intellectual property financing transactions, the metaverse, etc. He is particularly good at dealing with legal issues in the cultural industry and internet-related innovation fields. He has participated in the legislation and revision of a number of laws, and has been entrusted to lead a number of research topics and relevant legislative amendment proposals based on research results, which have been absorbed and adopted many times.

You is one of 12 legal advisers hired by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government for the first time. He also serves as the legal adviser to the Publicity Department of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China; the Shanghai Municipal Market Supervision Administration; the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission; and the Pudong New Area People’s Government. He has provided legal services for many well-known international and domestic enterprises such as Shanghai Concert Hall, PTC, Tencent, and Century Huatong.

In the past, You has led the team to represent more than 15,000 cases, including many “first cases” in the intellectual property industry that have aroused widespread interest. He is enthusiastic about public welfare and has handled many legal aid cases, contributing his own abilities to effectively solve disputes and maintain social stability.
