Zhang Jing

Introduction

Zhang Jing is a partner at Wang Jing & Co and holds a Master of Laws degree. She has practised law since 2007, specialising in maritime and admiralty law, offshore engineering, insurance and dispute resolution. Her clients include major protection and indemnity clubs, shipping companies, offshore engineering and energy enterprises, and trading companies worldwide. Known for her exceptional professional acumen, rigorous work ethic, and extensive experience, Zhang responds promptly and efficiently to client needs, consistently providing solutions that are both constructive and practical.

Her outstanding expertise has earned her wide recognition and accolades from domestic judicial authorities. In 2019, she was named one of the 1,000 lawyers for foreign-related matters by the Chinese Ministry of Justice. In 2023, she secured a spot on the “Top 10 Foreign-Related Lawyers in Guangzhou (Second Batch)” list by the Guangzhou Lawyers Association. In 2024, she was appointed as one of the “Ambassadors for Guangzhou’s Rule of Law Business Environment” by the Guangzhou Municipal Justice Bureau. From 2025, she has served as deputy director of the Guangzhou International Trade and Commercial Mediation Center.

Since 2021, Zhang has also been consistently featured in rankings by leading international legal rating agencies such as Asian Legal Business.

Some cases she has handled have been selected as model cases by the Supreme People’s Court and typical cases by courts at all levels. She is a multiple recipient of the “Annual Professional Achievement Award” from the Guangzhou Lawyers Association (from 2016 to 2017 and from 2021 to 2023) and the “Deals of the Year” award from China Business Law Journal (from 2022 to 2023).

Zhang is engaged in industry development and public welfare initiatives. She serves as deputy director of the Guangdong Lawyers Association’s cross-border dispute resolution professional committee. Zhang was jointly appointed by the Department of Commerce and Department of Justice of Guangdong Province as a member of the “Foreign-Related Business Legal Service Lawyer Group”. She provides pro bono legal services for major social events such as the Canton Fair and the 15th National Games, and actively participates in legislative and legal revision processes to contribute to the advancement of the rule of law.
