Christophe Han

Introduction

Christophe Han graduated with an LLB from East China University of Politics and Law and undertook advanced postgraduate studies in international law at Fudan University School of Law. He received his EMBA from Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance. In 1998, he co-founded Llinks Law Offices, where he is executive partner and management committee head. Prior to joining Llinks, he worked as both a lawyer and partner at a well-known law firm in China. He also trained at a prominent law firm in France.

Han served as a committee member at the 7th and 8th review boards for the offering of equities at the China Securities Regulatory Commission. He was appointed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (formerly Ministry of Labor and Social Security) of the PRC to serve as a member of the 1st and 2nd appraisal committees for the corporate annuity fund. Han served as a member of the 1st listing advisory committee of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, as well as a member of the legal advisory group of the Shanghai Pudong People’s Government and the Hainan Provincial Government. He was a member of the 8th and 9th council of the Shanghai Bar Association from 2008 to 2015.

Han has provided legal advice on M&A for many multinational companies, as well as foreign-invested and domestic enterprises. He has also provided legal services in restructuring and corporate governance to large state-owned enterprises as well as listed companies.

In public offerings of securities and capital markets, Han has acted as the legal counsel for issuers and international and domestic underwriters. He has advised more than a hundred companies on domestic and overseas listings. He has also provided a full range of legal services from structuring, drafting, negotiating and issuing legal opinions to completion and settlement for listing companies on M&A and restructuring deals.

In the investment funds arena, Han has provided legal services and represented many domestic and foreign financial institutions in setting up more than 10 JV fund management companies. He has provided legal services to more than 100 securities’ investment funds in their public fundraising including the first open-end, the first index-linked and the first quasi-money market funds in China as well as various local and foreign VC and PE funds in their investment projects in the country.

Han has been frequently recommended as a leading lawyer in capital markets and M&A by Chambers Global, Chambers Asia-Pacific, IFLR1000, Asialaw Profiles and Legalband. He was nominated as one of the “Best Managing Partners” by Asian Legal Business in 2009, 2013, 2014 and 2022. In 2025, he was honoured as “Managing Partner of the Year” by GRCD.
