Han Kun Law Offices has hired Zhang Dong at its Shenzhen office to strengthen the dispute resolution practice.
Zhang has 16 years of legal experience, having been a former partner at V&T Law Firm’s Shenzhen branch and also worked at King & Wood Mallesons.
He specialises in advising the private equity sector on market access, compliance, investment risk control and dispute resolution. He also counsels financial institutions on fund outsourcing and custody, margin financing and derivatives, with clients including Shenzhen Capital Group, Cowin Venture Capital and Guotai Junan Securities.
Zhang is also experienced in handling dispute resolution involving the entertainment industry, covering live concerts, as well as film and television production. He has long focused on resolving financial and investment disputes involving equity investments, M&A and asset management.
He has represented clients in several landmark bankruptcy restructuring cases, including an arbitration between South Korean conglomerate Hanwha and Chinese private equity company Guohua New Energy Investment over a contract dispute involving RMB100 million (USD13.8 million).
