Lu Xiang

Introduction

Lu Xiang is a partner at Global Law Office in Shanghai, specialising in corporate and M&A, real estate and construction, PE and investment funds, as well as compliance and risk control. Lu’s clientele primarily consists of companies in asset management, real estate, retail and manufacturing sectors, most of which are leaders in their respective fields.

Lu has participated in and led the legal due diligence and negotiations for hundreds of M&A deals. He represented Global Logistic Properties on its strategic investment in China Merchants Capital, the private equity investment arm of China Merchants Group, acquiring a 50% stake. This deal was awarded the “Deal of the Year (Asia) 2019” by Private Equity Real Estate.

Lu has recently assisted clients in raising and investing PE funds collectively amounting to tens of billions of renminbi. In addition to fund-related legal services, he provides comprehensive support throughout the life cycle of private funds, including registration, regular information disclosure on platforms such as the Asset Management Association of China and the Insurance Asset Management Association of China, fund liquidation and dissolution, and assistance with regulatory inspections.

Lu also provides legal services related to daily legal governance and risk management. These services include assisting clients in establishing legal relationships and drafting business contract documents under new business models, responding to their daily legal inquiries involving corporate law, foreign exchange, labour law, workplace safety, internet regulations and other areas, as well as issuing legal opinions, memoranda and lawyer’s letters on specific client issues.
