China’s Zhuo Jian Law Firm has set up a Tokyo office in a first for the Shenzhen-headquartered law firm, which strengthens its global push.

The new office has seven resident lawyers, including three Chinese partners. Partner Yin Xiuzhong, who serves as the chief representative, is familiar with Japanese and Korean law and specialises in cross-border M&A, investment, compliance, intellectual property and foreign dispute resolution.

The Tokyo office will focus on cross-border investment, M&A, dispute resolution, governance and compliance of overseas affiliates, labour, overseas property purchases, immigration, and intellectual property.

Zhang Bin, founding partner of Zhuo Jian and president of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, said the inauguration of the new office marked the Shenzhen firm’s deepening of its international development and a definitive move to help Chinese companies in their offshore strategy.
