Sridhar Mothe has joined Singhania & Co as a partner to bolster the firm’s construction and infrastructure arbitration practice in Hyderabad.

“The construction industry is facing complex issues. By associating with Singhania & Co … I can contribute to spreading good contract management practices,” said Mothe.

He brings 35 years of experience across the government and private sectors, focusing on the management of infrastructure project contracts. In his career, he held positions at the civil construction wing of state broadcaster All India Radio. The civil construction wing is responsible for the construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects, including roads, office and residential buildings, radio and TV studios, as well as steel towers and masts.

In 1987, he also worked at the government’s central engineering services sector.

Mothe also led the contracts and claims division at the NCC, a construction and infrastructure development company, and headed the contracts and legal department at project investor SEW Infrastructure. His expertise includes managing claims, litigations and disputes through arbitration, dispute resolution boards and conciliations. He is also an expert in delay analysis and its methodologies.

He has managed various government contracts, including those under India’s Central Public Works Department and the Fédération Internationale des Ingénieurs (International Federation of Consulting Engineers). The federation is the global representative body for national associations of consulting engineers, and represents more than a million professionals and 40,000 firms in about 100 countries worldwide.
