  • Fangda acted as PRC legal counsel of Ant Group in its acquisition of the majority shares in Bright Smart Securities (HK.1428). The transaction involves approximately 858 million shares, representing 50.55% of the total issued shares, with a total consideration of HK$2.814 billion. The transaction was signed and announced in April 2025 and the closing is subject to a report to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and an approval by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).

    Fangda as PRC counsel advised Ant Group on the acquisition from a PRC law perspective. The Fangda team on this deal was led by partner Lily Yin, and core team members include Tracy Long and Merlin Song.
