China will speed up legislation on IPRs involving big data, artificial intelligence, and genetic technology
China will speed up the legislation of intellectual property rights in new fields and business models such as big data, artificial intelligence, and genetic technology. And intellectual property protection rules will also be established and improved in this regards.
The build of the legal system includes: timely revision of the patent law, trademark law, copyright law and new plant variety protection regulations based on actual conditions, exploring the legislation of special laws and regulations involving geographical indications, industrial designs, etc. And improve the unified geographical indications protection scheme that coordinates special protection and trademark protection. Improve integrated circuit layout design protection laws and regulations. Formulate and amend laws and regulations in strengthening the protection of trade secrets. Improve the legal system for regulating intellectual property abuses, and the anti-monopoly and anti-unfair competition legislation related to intellectual property. Revise Science and Technological Progress Law. Study and establish a special procedure legal system that conforms to the laws of intellectual property trials.
