Introduction

Nadiya Sarguroh has almost 10 years of dispute resolution experience and specialises in international commercial arbitration, media and entertainment, insolvency and restructuring and civil litigation. She regularly advises her clients on complex corporate issues and transactions.

A significant part of her practice has been advising and representing clients in matters relating to cross border disputes, patent, trademark and copyright infringements, joint ventures, company investments and shareholder disputes, employment-related disputes, merger and demerger schemes, insolvency restructuring, tender-related disputes, real estate disputes, infrastructure and engineering disputes, debt recovery matters and consumer litigation. She also regularly advises startups and undertakes a complete handholding exercise for establishing their business and managing their investments. Contract drafting and vetting is another specialised area of her practice.

Her clientele list is spread across a variety of sectors, including engineering, procurement and construction, media and entertainment, hospitality, infratech, power, IT, healthcare, beauty, FMCG, apparels and the real estate sector, to name a few.

Recently Nadiya, along with her team at MZM Legal, obtained a successful international award in an ICC Arbitration under the aegis of the ICC Paris. She is currently preparing and spearheading with senior colleagues at the firm for two high-stake and multimillion-dollar international arbitrations seated in India and Singapore.

Nadiya regularly appears before high courts, NCLTs, tribunals, quasi-judicial bodies, and other regulatory authorities. She has excelled over the years, having been known for her cutting-edge solutions and round-the-clock support to her clients.

In January 2023, Nadiya was identified as one of India’s Future Legal Leaders by India Business Law Journal. Other institutions have awarded and recognised Nadiya for her excellence in the legal industry. She is often approached for her views on complex commercial and insolvency matters by journalists of reputed media houses.
