Introduction

Sumeet Kachwaha is the founding partner of Kachwaha & Partners, a leading dispute resolution and arbitration practice. He has handled many landmark and high stakes matters (including a large number of cross-border disputes).

He has served as amicus curiae to the High Court of Delhi in two matters, including in the bilateral treaty dispute Vodafone v Union of India. He has also stood in as an expert witness on Indian law in the courts of England and Singapore. He has received several appointments from the High Court of Delhi to sit as a sole arbitrator.

Sumeet has been ranked in Band 1 for arbitration by Chambers and Partners since 2009. He also figures as a leading individual in dispute resolution in the Legal 500 Asia-Pacific. He features in Who’s Who Legal in five sections: arbitration, asset recovery, construction, government contracts and procurement.

He currently serves as vice president of the Asia-Pacific Regional Arbitration Group and on the advisory board of the Asian International Arbitration Centre (formerly the KLRCA). In the past, he has served as chair of the dispute resolution and arbitration section of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association.
