Introduction

Daizy Chawla is a senior partner with S&A Law Offices, where she heads the intellectual property rights practice and the corporate practice group. Her forte lies in handling matters related to corporate, insolvency and IPR laws.

Daizy has had a prolific career advising domestic and international clients across varied industry verticals like real estate and infrastructure, hospitals and hospitality, ports, mining, educational institutions, manufacturing, and import and export, to name a few. She is a sector specialist in industrial engineering, digital consulting, technology, and education in matters relating to company law compliances, regulatory compliances, general corporate, foreign investments, corporate restructuring, corporate due diligence, intellectual property rights, tax (direct & indirect), banking & finance, FCRA and ECB regulations.

As one of the S&A Law Offices leadership team, Daizy is a part of the firm’s critical business decisions, the most important of which has been devising and developing an innovative and client-focused service delivery model, which is the hallmark of S&A. Her unique approach to handling and mitigating clients’ risks has yielded fast-paced growth for the firm and her as a professional individual.

Daizy has always been vocal about sharing knowledge. She regularly shares her expertise with society through pro bono work for various domestic and international matters. She is actively associated with Advocates for International Development (A4ID) and Trust Law, the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s global pro bono legal programme. Her opinions and insights on crucial matters are often covered in well-respected media news journals.

In her 17 years of practice, Daizy has earned many awards and accolades. She has been recognised as one of the Top 50 Managing Partners in the Legal Powerlist 2021 by Forbes and Legitquest. Some of her other recent notable recognitions include the 40 under 40 Award (Rising Star 2019) by Legal Era Magazine Award, the Certificate of Merit from IBBI for standing among the Top 10% Performers in the National Online Quiz on Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, and facilitator for startups under the Scheme for Facilitating Start-Ups Intellectual Property Protection launched by the government of India.

Daizy is also a regular contributor to the World Bank Survey and has been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the World Bank for contributions to its various publications.
