Introduction
Lionel D’Almeida qualified to practice law in 2007 and has been with AZB & Partners since then. He was promoted to partner in 2015 and is now a senior partner at the firm.
His practice is focused primarily on corporate finance, advising issuers, promoters, selling shareholders, and investment banks on a broad range of capital markets transactions, including IPOs, FPOs, QIPs, rights issues, block trades, domestic and international listings, buy-back programmes and international and domestic debt offerings. He regularly represents clients on complex securities matters, including SEBI proceedings.
Lionel has played a significant role in shaping the regulatory framework for developing the securities markets on IFSC stock exchanges, and is recognised for his extensive involvement in advising on the legal architecture enabling direct listings of equity shares of Indian companies on IFSC exchanges. He currently serves as an adviser to IFSCA’s Standing Committee on Primary Markets.
