Introduction

Bernardus Billy started as a senior associate at Makes and Partners in 2012 and was appointed as a partner in 2017, making him the youngest partner at the firm.

Billy is recognised for his expertise in capital market transactions, M&A, foreign investments, and project financing transactions. He leads the firm’s startup, venture capital, and fintech practice and has advised various venture capital firms, private equity firms, investors, and startups during their different stages of financing, including Temasek, KKR, Expedia, the Djarum Group, Korea Investment Partners and Ajaib. Billy spearheaded the creation of Aksara Nusantara, a kit of editable standard startup agreements to help startups during the initial stages of their fundraising.

In 2021, Billy has been appointed as a member of the ethical board of the Indonesian Fintech Association of Indonesia (AFTECH) for 2021-2025.
