Introduction

Bagus Nur Buwono is a founding partner of Bagus Enrico & Partners (BE Partners), one of Indonesia’s leading corporate and commercial law firms founded in 2009. He has more than 25 years of legal advisory works, contentious and non-contentious, spanning cross-border transactions specialising in corporate M&A, employment, infrastructure, real estate and construction, banking and finance, construction, strategic investment, and general commercial matters across various sectors of industries.

Prior to founding BE Partners, he practised as a legal counsel at one of Jakarta’s prominent law firms. He was also holding numerous top legal positions at several multinational banks as senior vice president and country head of legal, where Bagus received numerous management awards for his unique ability to traverse the multifaceted legal landscape of Indonesia.

Since the establishment of BE Partners, Bagus has been nominated and ultimately awarded numerous legal accolades and achievements, which have reflected his strong impact, knowledge and veteran expertise within the Indonesian legal industry. Bagus has continuously been ranked among Indonesia’s 100 Top Lawyers by Asia Business Law Journal since the list was introduced.

Bagus graduated from the Faculty of Law of Gadjah Mada University in Indonesia. On receiving the Chevening Scholarship Award, he continued his studies by undertaking the postgraduate programme in international business law (LLM) at the University of Manchester. He was also selected to attend a mini-MBA programme held by Mizuho Corporate Bank in co-operation with Hitotsubashi University Tokyo.

Bagus is a member of the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI) while also co-lecturing on company law for the international undergraduate programme and the international commercial contract laws for the postgraduate programme at the Faculty of Law of Gadjah Mada University. He was also the author of a book focusing on the complexities and practical applications of the Indonesian corporate world, Running a Company under Indonesian Laws, published by Rajawali Pers in 2021.
