Introduction

SSEK partner Stephen Igor Warokka specialises in corporate law and M&A, labour law, expatriate work permits, immigration, and shipping law.

Stephen was named to the board of governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia in 2022. He heads the international relations division of the Indonesia Labour Law Consultants Association, an independent organisation that provides input to the government on employment-related laws and regulations.

In 2019, Stephen was heavily involved in helping to shape the contents of an Indonesian Minister of Manpower decree on positions that can be held by expatriate employees in various business sectors.

Stephen was named to the 2020 Asian Legal Business 40 Under 40, a list of Asia’s best young lawyers. He is named next generation lawyer for shipping law by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific.

Stephen earned his master of laws from the University of California, Berkeley (Boalt Hall) School of Law.
