Pancho Umali is a senior partner in Cruz Marcelo & Tenefrancia’s corporate and commercial law department, and its mining and natural resources department.
He regularly advises clients on, among others, investment structures and protection, nationality restrictions, compliance and governance, government procurement, tax, conveyancing, property development, citizenship, immigration, employment and outsourcing. As a member of the firm’s mining and natural resources department, he also routinely assists clients, particularly on land and environmental issues, indigenous peoples, social and development management, community relations, security, and local governments.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in philosophy from the University of the Philippines, where he graduated cum laude. In 2001, he obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the same university where he graduated as a member of the University of the Philippines Law Honours’ Society, the Order of the Purple Feather. Umali was admitted to the Philippine Bar the succeeding year.
Umali is a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, the Philippine Bar Association, the Taguig Lawyers League and the Makati Law Foundation.
