Introduction

Danny E Bunyi is a senior partner at DivinaLaw with more than 30 years of legal experience in a wide range of areas including corporate law, banking and finance, M&As, cross-border transactions, as well as commercial contract drafting and review. He is the head of the firm’s corporate group.

Prior to joining DivinaLaw, Bunyi was senior vice president and corporate secretary for the Development Bank of the Philippines, one of the largest government-owned banks in the country.

He is a lecturer at the Ateneo de Manila University John Gokongwei School of Management, the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Civil Law and the Trust Institute Foundation of the Philippines.

He co-authored the book Compendious Bar Reviewer on Civil Law released in 2023 as part of the Divina Bar Review series by publisher CentralBooks.

He obtained his Bachelor of Laws and his Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a major in Legal Management from Ateneo de Manila University.

His work in servicing the firm’s clients has led to multiple awards in the areas of banking and finance, corporate and commercial law, private equity and venture capital. He has also been recognised as a Commended External Counsel of the Year in 2019 and 2021 by In-House Community. He was named among the Philippines Client Choice Lawyers by Asian Legal Business for 2021 and 2022. He has been among Asia Business Law Journal’s Top 100 Lawyers in the Philippines since 2021.
