Introduction
Tran D Hoang (Henry) is a counsel licensed to practice law in Vietnam, New York and Massachusetts, specialising in M&A, investment banking and financing, litigation, and arbitration. His professional endeavours centred on advancing Vietnam’s business environment through legal innovation and strategic advocacy.
Tran contributed to the campaign to repeal Article 292 of Vietnam’s Penal Code 2015, a provision perceived as a regulatory hindrance to startups on the internet and telecommunications sectors. His efforts played a role in the eventual removal of the article by the prime minister and the National Assembly in 2016 and 2017.

His client base includes prominent corporations and investment funds such as Vingroup, Be Group, Go-Jek Indonesia, Phat Dat Real Estate Development, Thien Viet Securities, Viet Capital Securities, KIDO Group, TVAM Growth Fund, ACA Group, Digiworld, ILA Vietnam, Finhay, Galaxy Media and Entertainment, among others.
His work often involves cross-border collaboration, partnering with legal professionals globally to assist clients with investments in diverse jurisdictions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, the Netherlands, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, Japan, and the British Virgin Islands. Notably, he is among the first Vietnamese lawyers to represent a case at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), an institution under the World Bank focused on resolving disputes between international investors and states.
