Edmund Kronenburg

Introduction

Edmund Kronenburg is the managing partner of Braddell Brothers, Singapore’s second-oldest independent law practice, founded in 1883. He is admitted as an advocate and solicitor (Singapore) and solicitor (England and Wales).

Kronenburg has over 26 years’ experience in dispute resolution, regularly appearing as lead counsel in hearings, trials and appeals before the Singapore courts, as well as in international arbitrations. Apart from having a diverse commercial litigation and arbitration practice (spanning commercial and corporate disputes to energy, mining and natural resources to media and telecommunications) Kronenburg also represents the Singapore Medical Council in medical professional disciplinary hearings and private clients in medical negligence claims before the Singapore courts; these include some landmark decisions of the Singapore Court of Appeal and the Court of Three Judges.  Kronenburg is an honourary legal adviser to the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, and a teaching faculty member of the Singapore Medical Association’s Centre for Medical Ethics and Professionalism. He has also taught trial advocacy and cross-examination at the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law consistently since 1998.

As an arbitrator, Kronenburg has conducted arbitrations seated in Singapore, Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators, the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators, the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators, the Arbitrators & Mediators Institute of New Zealand, the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators, and the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration.
