Introduction

Jacqueline Fu is the managing partner of the Taipei office at a global law firm K&L Gates. She focuses her practice on general corporate and commercial transactions, M&A, venture capital transactions, private equity fund investments, and securities laws.

Fu advises Taiwan public companies and subsidiaries of multinational companies on the legal issues encountered in their day-to-day operations. She also advises multinational companies on acquiring Taiwan public or private companies and Taiwan-based companies in cross-border transactions including M&A transactions in the US, Asia Pacific, Cayman Islands and Europe. She is recognised for handling unprecedented projects that require creative structures and coordination with governmental agencies within the boundaries of strict Taiwan laws and requirements. She acted as lead counsel in Taiwan on the first preferred stock transactions mirroring the Silicon Valley venture capital transactions and the privatisation of a duel listed company (Taipei Exchange and NASDAQ listed) and subsequent restructuring of its Taiwan successor issuer with more than 400 public shareholders into a Cayman holding company.

She also served as the governor of the American Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan.

Fu is licensed to practice New York law and Taiwan law. She graduated from National Taiwan University with a bachelor’s degree in law and Harvard Law School with a master’s degree in law.

She is recognised among the top-ranked lawyers for her corporate/M&A and capital markets work by both The Legal 500 and Chambers Guides. She was also awarded the Outstanding Leadership Award from the American Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan.
