Introduction

Victor I-Hsiu Chang has more than 25 years of extensive multi-jurisdiction experience in M&A, private equity and venture capital fund formations and cross-border transactions of all types, frequently involving parties from the US, Europe, Canada, Australia, Taiwan and Mainland China. Chang has been recognised as a market leader, leading attorney and equivalent in the areas of private equity and M&A by IFLR, Chambers, Legal 500, Asia Law and Asia Business Law Journal.

Prior to joining LCS & Partners in 2004, Chang was deputy general counsel of Trader Classified Media, a leading classified media company traded on the Paris Bourse and had also practised for seven years in Boston with the firm of Testa Hurwitz & Thibeault.

Chang has represented numerous principals in the formation of private equity and hedge funds operating in the US and Greater China, with aggregate LP commitments in excess of USD5.6 billion, and further advises most of his clients in connection with their domestic and international investments. In addition, he represents many Taiwan financial institutions in connection with their overseas and local alternative investment activities. Finally, corporate and individual clients frequently engage Chang to head negotiations of dispute settlements, and he is a licensed arbitrator with the Taiwan Arbitration Association.

Recently in 2022, Chang assisted with the award-winning acquisitions by Bora Pharmaceuticals of two leading contract development and manufacturing organisation companies based in Taiwan and PX Mart’s acquisition of RT Mart. Chang is also a frequent guest lecturer on matters of M&A, technology and startups at Academia Sinica and the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology.
