Introduction

Billy MC Chen is a partner and senior consultant in the Taipei office of a global law firm K&L Gates. He has extensive experience in representing international and domestic clients in various areas of law, including M&A, capital markets, investment management or finance, renewable energy projects and general corporate matters.

Prior to joining the firm in 2007, he practised as an associate in Michigan, where he focused on corporate, civil, and criminal law. He also served as corporate counsel to companies in Taiwan and China.

Chen is recognised as a next generation partner in corporate/M&A (Taiwan) by The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific Guides (2019–2023).

Chen is licensed to practice in the district of Columbia and Michigan. He graduated from National Taipei University with a bachelor’s degree in economics, Florida State University with a master’s degree in management information systems, and Thomas M Cooley Law School with a doctor of jurisprudence. He speaks English, Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese.
