Introduction
Managing Partner of Hunton Andrews Kurth’s Asia-Pacific offices and resident in our former Hong Kong and Singapore offices continuously over the past 26 years. Ed currently leads our Asia practices from our Bangkok office. Ed has over 38 years of practice experience in New York and Europe and has led or participated in most of our Asia M&A, project development and finance transactions.
Ed also advises public and private local and international companies and consortia as developers, sponsors, tenderers and borrowers, as well as investment banks, governmental enterprises and other project participants in all multijurisdictional aspects of joint ventures and the development, acquisition and financing of power, water, telecoms and other infrastructure projects and project portfolios and the privatization, deregulation and power marketing of utility systems.
Ed has served as counsel in the development, acquisition and divestiture of over 18,000 MW of generating capacity and the financing of over US$16 billion in capital markets, commercial, project and structured financings in the United States, Europe and throughout Asia with extended stay periods in Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea, Laos, Indonesia and Mongolia. His recent notable deals included an acquisition in a 640 MW offshore wind project in Taiwan in 2020 and the acquisition in the 1.8 GW Paju LNG-fired power facility in South Korea in 2019.
