Vikrant Rana

Introduction

Vikrant Rana is the managing partner of SS Rana & Co, a premier full-service law firm. He has been consistently recognised as a “highly recommended individual” by WTR 1000, ranked in India Business Law Journal’s A-List, and named as one of India’s IP Stars. Vikrant’s expertise and experience encompass a broad spectrum of legal practices, including but not limited to intellectual property, corporate and commercial laws, dispute resolution, data protection, etc.

He advises several Fortune 500 and multinational companies as well as grassroots innovators on contentious and non-contentious matters. Vikrant is also an IP facilitator with the government’s Startups IP Protection scheme.

Widely known for his advocacy, Vikrant is a longstanding member of and associated with various international and Indian organisations, such as the International Bar Association, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), the International Trademark Association, the Asian Patent Attorneys Association, the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, the Society of Indian Law Firms, the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and many more.

At home, Vikrant is passionately involved in sensitising awareness about myriad laws and is associated with several government organisations, colleges and universities, including the TIFAC, the Indian Space Research Organisation, the Department of Science and Technology, Patent Facilitating Centres, Patent Information Centres, the FICCI, the Ministry of Small-Scale Industries, the CII, the World Intellectual Property Organisation, The Energy and Research Institute, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Banaras Hindu University, Uttaranchal University, Amity University, etc., and is a frequent speaker and panellist in seminars and conferences conducted by these organisations.

Vikrant has also been appointed a professor of practice by the Law College Dehradun of Uttaranchal University in an endeavour to bridge the gap between industry and academia. He has also been an arbitrator with the National Internet Exchange of India to adjudicate domain name disputes.

He is an avid sportsman, as well as an enthusiastic runner, having participated in more than 12 half-marathons. He is also a certified yoga teacher.
