V Lakshmikumaran

Introduction

V Lakshmikumaran is the founder and managing partner of Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan, a premier Indian law firm. With about four decades of experience, he specialises in tax, customs, international trade laws, trade remedies and intellectual property. Prior to entering the legal practice, he was an officer with the Indian Revenue Service.

He has represented several cases in the Supreme Court and various high courts of India, many of which have led to landmark judgements. He has also represented clients in the EU, the US, Australia and Canada, and has argued trade remedy cases before the Dispute Settlement and Appellate Body of the WTO.

He has addressed the World Customs Organisation General Agreements on Tariffs and Trade Workshop on Customs Valuation, the WTO World Forum, the Strategic Alliance on WTO and Trade Remedies, and is regularly invited to give talks globally by leading universities such as Harvard, Cornell, University of Florida and many more.
