Indian consumer goods company Dabur India has acquired a US-based personal care company, Namasté Laboratories, for US$100 million. The purchase, which was made by Dabur’s US subsidiary, Dermoviva Skin Essentials, includes Namasté’s two units in the US – Healing Hair Laboratories International and Urban Laboratories International – along with its African operations, Hair Rejuvenation & Revitalization Nigeria and its business in South Africa.
Namasté’s founder and CEO Gary Gardner will keep his position and lead his team in running the company as a subsidiary of Dermoviva. Namasté’s sales team in North America will also remain the same to ensure it continues to benefit from its existing relationships with retailers, wholesalers, distributors and suppliers.
