The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) has elected Shourya Mandal, a partner at Fox Mandal, as its president for 2012-13. Mandal takes over from Anand Desai, the managing partner at DSK Legal.
The IACC aims to link the business communities of India and the US and enhance trade relations between the two countries. Among other activities, it promotes bilateral trade and investment and technology transfers, and assists business collaborations and joint ventures. Its other objectives include facilitating the export of manufactured and agricultural products from India, helping small and medium-sized US enterprises do business with India, and promoting environment-related bilateral trade.
Other members of the executive council include Aslesha Gowarikar, a partner at Desai & Diwanji; Atul Sharma, a partner at Link Legal; and Poorvi Chothani, the managing partner at LawQuest.
